Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking in Rwanda

DAY 1: Arrival in Kigali

The Tour Guide from Kawira Safaris will meet you and give you a tour of Kigali city and visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial. After that proceed to Musanze the home of Mountain Gorillas. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 02: Gorilla Tracking

Day of gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes gorilla park. Depending on the level of fitness, you may be allowed to choose the group of gorillas you wish to visit. The closest is about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park boundary. Meals and overnight at the Mountain Gorillas view Lodge.

DAY 03: Dian Fossey Grave Visit

Early morning hike to the Famous Dian Fossey Research center and Grave Yard. Where Dr. Fossey spent close to two decades habituating, studying, and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Drive to Gisenyi for an overnight at the Marriot Kigali Hotel.

DAY 04: Nyungwe Forest

Morning breakfast then transfers to the Nyungwe Forest. This Forest contains a variety of habitats including montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps, and bogs, and is very mountainous too. It provides some of the best primates trekking experiences in East Africa. Meals and Overnight at Nyungwe top view lodge.

DAY 05: Chimpanzee Tracking

Breakfast early before starting the morning Chimpanzee trekking expedition in the Cyamudongo forest. Other wildlife in the forest includes grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L'hoest's monkeys, and owl-faced monkeys. Meals and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

DAY 06: Nyungwe - Kigali

After breakfast in the Morning drive to Kigali with a stopover to Visit the Murambi Genocide Memorial and proceed to visit The National museums in Butare and Nyanza. Meals and overnight at the Hotel Des Millecollines.

DAY 07: Airport Transfer

Morning transfer to the airport for departure flight.
