Rwanda Backpacker Gorilla Trekking and Cycling Tour
Day 1: Arrival - Kigali
Meet your tour guide on your arrival at Kigali airport, and if time allows, visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre. Overnight in Kigali
Day 2: Akagera National Park
Early morning, drive to Akagera National Park; after the game drive, drive back to Kigali for an overnight in Kigali City.
Day 3: Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, drive to Nyungwe National Park; stopover in Nyanza king palace and in Butare for the national museum visit and Lunch, and continue to Nyungwe. You can stop at Uwinka for a Canopy walk before heading to the hotel. Overnight in Gisakura Guest House
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking
In the early morning, enter the forest for Chimpanzee trekking or hike to Isumo waterfall, and if time allows us, in the afternoon, visit the tea company and drive to Esperance orphanage for overnight.
Day 5: Kibuye
After breakfast and touring Esperance eco-projects with Victor (the founder), drive to Kibuye, and later in the afternoon, go for a boat tour to relax on both the beautiful islands of Napoleon and Amahoro. Overnight in Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu.
Day 6: Biking from Kibuye to Kinunu Village
Biking from Kibuye to Kinunu village, along the Congo-Nile trail. On the way, stop over for beautiful photography; visit the local community and birdwatching, and get the coffee experience from crop to cup. Overnight in Kinunu
Day 7: Bike from Kinunu to Gisenyi
Bike from Kinunu to Gisenyi, continue experiencing the best of the Congo-Nile trail along Lake Kivu while cycling in a fishing village, interact with people, and meet the fishermen, learning a lot from Rwandan culture. Have an evening in Rubona fishing village at Inzu Lodge.
Day 8: Gisenyi Sightseeing Cycling Tour
Gisenyi sightseeing cycling tour with a Visit to people living with disability in Ubumwe community center, continue cycling to Dancing pots (Pygmy community), and in the afternoon drive to Musanze for overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla Tracking
Mountain Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park; drive to Kigali overnight.
Day 10: Kigali City sightseeing Tour - Departure
Kigali city sightseeing Tour, visit the local market, get time for shopping and after drive back to Kigali airport for your departure.
