Rwanda Backpacker Trekking and Cycling Tour Experience

Day 1: Arrival - Kigali

Meet your tour guide on your arrival at Kigali airport, if time allows us to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Center. Overnight in Kigali

Day 2: Akagera National Park

Early morning, drive to Akagera national park; after the game drive, drive back to Kigali for overnight in Kigali City.

Day 3: Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, drive to Nyungwe national park; stopover in Nyanza king palace and in Butare for the national museum visit and Lunch, after continuing to Nyungwe. You can stop at Uwinka for a Canopy walk before heading to the hotel. Overnight in Gisakura Guest House

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking or Hike to Isumo Waterfall

In the early morning, enter the forest for Chimpanzee trekking or hike to Isumo waterfall, and if time allows us, afternoon visit the tea company and drive to Esperance orphanage for overnight.

Day 5: Kibuye

After breakfast and touring Esperance eco-projects with Victor (the founder), drive to Kibuye, later in the afternoon go for a boat tour to relax on both the beautiful islands of Napoleon and Amahoro islands. Overnight in Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Day 6: Kibuye to Kinunu Village

Biking from Kibuye to Kinunu village, along the congo-Nile trail. On the way stop over for beautiful photography; visit the local community and birdwatching and get the coffee experience from crop to cup. Overnight in Kinunu

Day 7: Kinunu to Gisenyi

Bike from Kinunu to Gisenyi, continue experiencing the best of the Congo-Nile trail a long lake Kivu while cycling in a fishing village, interacting with people, and learning a lot from Rwandan culture. Have an evening in Rubona fishing village at Inzu Lodge.

Day 8: Gisenyi Sightseeing Cycling Tour

Gisenyi sightseeing cycling tour with the Visit people living with disability in Ubumwe community center, continue cycling to Dancing Pots (Pygmy community) and in the afternoon meet the fishermen community for the night fishing experience tour. Overnight at Inzu Lodge in Rubona fishing village

Day 9: Noel Orphanage - Imbabazi Community

In the morning after breakfast visit the Noel orphanage and continue to the Imbabazi community for a nature, culture performance, and historical tour. After this wonderful and inspiring experience proceed to Musanze overnight.

Day 10: Gorilla Tracking

Mountain Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes national park. Spend the night in Musanze.

Day 11: Relaxing Day

On a relaxing day, drive along the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo, and continue to Kigali city overnight.

Day 12: Kigali Sightseeing - Shopping - Departure

Kigali city sightseeing Tour, visit local market; get time for shopping and after drive back to Kigali airport for your departure.
