8 DAYS/7 Nights: Rwanda Gorilla, Bike&Relax on Congo-Nile Trail (Lake Kivu) & Agri-Cultural Tour
Day 1: Arrival-Kigali
Pickup at Kigali Airport and a sightseeing tour through the city—option to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial and arts and crafts centers. If you arrive in the morning, then it will be easier to visit the Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide museums. Overnight in Kigali
Day 2: Musanze
After breakfast, we transfer to the north near the volcanoes. Drive to the north in Musanze; drive around Ruhondo lake and spend a night at Charité de Foyer (sister's guest house) with the beautiful views on Lake Ruhondo. (We have to book this place in advance, it is a very calm and real place for relaxing.)
Day 3: Musanze
Relax or go for a nature walk along the shore. After continuing driving to both twin lakes and enjoying the best views of Burera Lake, continue to your hotel in Musanze Town.
Optional 1: If you are interested, we can do a visit to the Cave or one of the communities in the afternoon. Stay at Muhabura, Best View Hotel, or at Kinigi Guest House.
Day 4: Volcanoes National Park
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After the trekking, we drive to Gisenyi, and stay at Inzu Lodge in a fishing village, with the best views near Lake Kivu
Day 5: Bike Tour
Visit Gisenyi and do a bike tour outside the town. This tour takes you to a banana plantation, a Tea plantation, while crossing villages with many crops and interacting with local people. Later in the evening, we can meet the fishermen and experience the local lifestyle. Overnight at Paradise Malahide Motel.
Day 6:Lake Kivu
We can drive along Lake Kivu on the Congo-Nile trail. If you are interested, we can do the coffee tour from crop to cup experience, and later we will continue to drive to Kibuye, where we will arrive in the evening. Stay at your lodge, enjoying the sunset on Lake Kivu. Overnight in Kibuye.
Optional 2: You can choose to stay in the area and do the bike tour combined with driving while experiencing the local lifestyle along Lake Kivu on the Congo-Nile trail. Make coffee by yourself from crop to cup in Cyimbiri village and stay in the village overnight.
Day 7: Lake Kivu
You can stay another Day and night, but if your flight is in the morning on the next day, then we will take the evening driving back to Kigali overnight. Of course, if we stay, we can walk or do other activities in the area, but you will have enough time to relax on Lake Kivu.
Day 8: Departure
In the morning, after your breakfast, we return to Kigali for your outbound flight.
